Summary
The Opinions Columnist(s) are responsible in assisting the Opinions Editor in providing opinions for publication in The Xavierite. The Opinions Columnist(s) are responsible for producing one column for publication every week. Additionally, the Opinions Editor is a leading member of the Student Media Street Team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Produces one-two columns per week
  • Attends general staff meeting
  • Meets with Opinions Editor
  • Maintain weekly-posted office hours in The Xavierite office (4 hours per week).
  • Writes columns that are unique and creative
  • Makes sure that all articles written contain factual information and that the Opinions Section as a whole serve as an open forum for the SXU community
  • Assists with the layout of the section

Qualifications
MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY
Must be Federal Work Study Eligible
Must Include a Resume and Cover Letter
Preference in journalism, communication, or English.
