Overview
Hussmann's Internship Program provides meaningful, real-life experiences while working as a solutions leader for the food retailing industry. Hussmann interns receive competitive compensation, participate in community stewardship, network with company leadership, and learn about career opportunities available at Hussmann.
As an IT Intern in the 2027 Summer Internship Program, you will gain experience and insight into various information technology divisions of Hussmann. You will work across several departments on various projects from Global Applications, Audit and Compliance, and Service Desk, to Digital Platforms, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in some cases and own an IT project(s) that drives improvements or delivering enhanced capabilities to the business.
  • Ensure that current and future technical services and solutions are aligned and delivered within the company's business needs and industry standards.
  • Network with senior leaders, associates, and other program interns to learn about our organization.
  • Tour Hussmann's 1.6 million square foot manufacturing facility, our Global Hub for hosting customers, and the R&D Lab where we test product quality.
  • Participate in community stewardship outreach, career development events, and other team-building offsite events.
  • Compete in the annual Ideation & Innovation Challenge.

Ideation & Innovation Challenge: Throughout the twelve-week program, all Hussmann interns will divide into cross-functional teams and compete with one another for the Hussmann Ideation & Innovation Challenge. Working with Hussmann mentors and leaders, you and your team will identify a solution to a provided problem statement. At the end of the summer, you'll present your team's business proposal to a panel of judges, executive leaders, and the organization - and possibly create a roadmap for Hussmann's next great innovation.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in school pursuing a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a Computer Science field
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects, and demonstrate strong attention to detail
  • Highly motivated and eager to learn
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to relocate, if not local

The summer internship will run from the third week of May through the first week of August. These dates may be changed to meet the needs of the student.
