What are Intern Operational Technology roles?

Intern Operational Technology (OT) roles are entry-level positions where students or recent graduates gain practical experience working with systems and infrastructure that monitor and control industrial operations. These interns often assist in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving technologies like SCADA systems, PLCs, and industrial networks. The role typically involves supporting senior engineers, learning about cybersecurity in OT environments, and participating in projects that ensure the efficiency and safety of operational processes. It's a valuable opportunity to develop technical skills and understand how information technology integrates with physical systems in industries such as manufacturing, energy, and transportation.

As an Intern in Operational Technology (OT), you can expect to assist with monitoring and maintaining industrial control systems, supporting cybersecurity improvements, and helping with system upgrades or troubleshooting. You'll often collaborate with engineers and IT professionals to ensure equipment and network reliability within manufacturing or utility environments. Interns may be involved in collecting data, documenting processes, and participating in team meetings to learn about OT best practices.
