Manufacturing Engineer Intern/Co-Op
KCC Manufacturing is currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern for our manufacturing operation in the Louisville, KY area. This is a full-time, temporary position. The right candidate will be in an Industrial or Mechanical Engineering major, with a focus on improvements within the manufacturing process.

Job Reponsibilities:
โ€ข Champion shop floor improvement projects such as fixture builds, cart design, etc.
โ€ข Oversee implementation of shop floor improvement projects and document progress.
โ€ข Hands-On leadership on welding and fabrication for special projects as needed.
โ€ข Conduct and document time studies to determine best manufacturing methods and times.
โ€ข Assess layouts of equipment, materials and workspace to maximize productivity.
โ€ข Update and develop standard operating procedures for shop floor.
โ€ข Continuously make suggestions to improve processes with regards to quality and productivity
โ€ข Communicate and collaborate with management and product design engineers regarding the manufacturability of parts & assemblies.
โ€ข Reduce scrap product and identify opportunities for increasing capacity.
โ€ข Collect and analyse data to identify root causes of defects and suggest appropriate countermeasures.
โ€ข Report and document any equipment / process abnormalities.
โ€ข Manage and test new equipment.
โ€ข Monitor and improve related quality and processing areas and provide problem solving assistance for improvements in quality, performance, productivity and cost.
โ€ข Work in production related tasks, as required.
Qualifications:
โ€ข Student in a bachelor's degree program in engineering (industrial, manufacturing or mechanical).
