Description

Graduate Assistants act as helpers to their departments, students or professors in a research or administrative capacity. Their primary responsibilities include assisting with various administrative tasks, organizing campus events and conducting various research tasks.

For students intending to get an MBA:

GA positions require a two year commitment to the College. GA's cannot complete the MBA program in less than two calendar years.

  • You must first apply and be accepted into the MBA  program in order to be selected for a Graduate Assistant position.
  • You must receive a GA position before being enrolled in any MBA courses; once you have been enrolled in any MBA courses you are no longer eligible to receive a GA position.
  • Lastly, individuals must remain in good-standing in the graduate program in order to continue in the GA position.


Position Summary

Working with the Web Administrator, the Web Administration Graduate Assistant will assist in editing and managing the public Benedictine College website and working with related systems. He or she will add new content as needed and will ensure the existing content is up-to-date. Position requires 20 hours of work weekly.



Requirements

Experience


  • Facility with web-related material and applications and the ability to apply general web knowledge to unfamiliar situations. The ideal candidate will not be intimidated by software that he or she has never used before.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Able to perform simple image editing (cropping, color adjustments) in Adobe Photoshop.
  • Able to communicate clearly and work well with a variety of departments and offices.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (Wordpress, Percussion, Drupal) is a plus.
  • Attention to detail in editing copy, layout and code.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in writing.
