Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with 10+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise mainframe applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and IBM z/OS. The candidate should be capable of working in a fast-paced Agile environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Required Skills

10+ years of experience in Mainframe application development and support.

Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and IBM z/OS.

Experience in batch processing, online transactions, and production support.

Strong knowledge of SQL and DB2 database design and optimization.

Experience in debugging, performance tuning, and code optimization.

Hands-on experience with file handling, job scheduling, and batch job monitoring.

Familiarity with source code management tools and SDLC processes.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain Mainframe applications.

Analyze business requirements and convert them into technical solutions.

Develop and enhance COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2 programs.

Perform code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing.

Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.

Optimize application performance and ensure system reliability.

Collaborate with business analysts, developers, QA teams, and stakeholders.

Participate in application upgrades, enhancements, and production deployments.

Prepare technical documentation and support knowledge transfer activities.

Follow coding standards and industry best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or Healthcare domains.

Exposure to IBM utilities and scheduling tools.

Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD for Mainframe is a plus.
