The Intern Lpn Operating Room is a training position for LPNs gaining OR experience, while the Lpn Operating Room is a fully qualified role responsible for patient care during surgeries. Interns work under supervision, whereas licensed LPNs operate independently within the OR setting.

Can an LPN work in an operating room?

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) generally do not work directly in operating rooms, as surgical settings typically require Registered Nurses (RNs) with specialized perioperative training. However, LPNs may assist in preoperative or postoperative care under supervision, depending on state regulations and hospital policies. Certification in perioperative nursing is often necessary for those working closely in surgical environments.
