Job description

Job Title: Branding and Design Lab Marketing Assistant
Department: Office of Communications
Supervisor: Mary Ealley, Assistant Vice President of Creative Projects
Starting Rate of Pay: $10.00
Length of Time: Eligible for rehire on a semester basis.
Department Description
The HPU Office of Communications creates High Point University print and digital marketing materials and is responsible for the branding across campus and in the community. We manage the projects from concept to completion. The intern will work closely with the Director of Brand Management and the team at the Design Lab.
As a part of the team this position will experience the day-to-day operations and learn how the department works with and supports the Office of Communication and the entire university.
Job Location/ Hours Required
The candidate will perform all job duties in Roberts Hall in the Office of Communications and also some time at the HPU Design Lab - off campus - at the 806 Westchester Dr. location.
Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 20 hours. This position requires up to 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
  • Updating project information in the Air Table databases
  • Creating design projects in Canva and/or InDesign
  • Assisting with the creation of timelines for upcoming projects
  • Marking up files with edits and proofreading projects
  • Counting inventory and organizing products
  • Filing invoices and labeling and filing samples
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills:
  • Computer skills with Excel and Word/Outlook
  • Excellent time management skills, self-motivation and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the Adobe Suite, Canva and Photoshop
