Job description

As an Engineering Intern at Micron Technology, you'll join our team in supporting our 300mm semiconductor processes and equipment used at a state-of-the-art fabrication facility. Typical internships will be for the summer months, and will be located in Boise, Idaho or Manassas, Virginia. We will assign you a project that is intended to last the duration of your 3-month internship and will occupy most of your time. Training in our safety procedures and for the operations required for your assignment are vital to ensure a safe working experience. The internship will involve working in the clean room fabrication environment during a portion of the internship. We expect a verbal presentation on your project results, near the end of your internship.

In addition, you may assist in product defect investigations, maintenance of tools and processes for R & D experiments. Working with fab tool automation systems and software while pursuing routine automation errors if they arise may be involved. There could be a need react to SPC data and investigate /correct causes for SPC notifications. Creating Quality Deviation Reports or Engineering Change Notices may also be needed. We also anticipate for our intern to take the initiative to move your assigned project forward to completion.

Qualifications:

  • We need someone who wants to work in an exciting and fast paced environment
  • The ability work on multiple tasks concurrently, prioritize issues and tasks
  • Willingness to work any shift, including periodic rotations and some overtime.
  • Excellent technical, communication, and analytical skills
  • PC skills in Microsoft Office applications and JMP.
  • Possess a continuous improvement process (CIP) demeanor, looking for ways to improve operations, and how to make a difference today!
  • We need an intern drawn to creative problem solving and innovative solutions
  • Recognize, identify, and raise awareness of process anomalies with the motivation of "who needs to know this now!"

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth understanding and working knowledge of SPC and Design of Experiments
  • Proficient in one or more scripting, programming and visualization tools: Python, Java, Tableau, Matlab, Microsoft Suite
  • Advanced problem-solver - understanding of data, good data intuition and data visualization skills
  • Experience or knowledge of data collection, warehousing systems, and data cleansing
  • Hands-on experience in the field of data analytics, preferably with experience querying databases
  • Ability to trouble shoot equipment

Education:

Junior Level Status in Chemical Engineering, Mech Engineering. Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or related Engineering Field.

Must be a current student, must not graduate before September 2025.
