Role Overview
We are seeking a senior, hands-on Lead E‑Commerce Engineer to drive the design, development, and optimization of customer-facing digital commerce platforms. This role blends technical leadership with active hands-on delivery, owning architecture, platform integrations, and engineering execution across large-scale e‑commerce experiences.
You will lead a small but high-impact engineering function, partner closely with Product, UX, Content, and Marketing teams, and ensure the platform is scalable, secure, performant, and conversion-focused.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Core Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in a technical leadership role
- Strong hands-on experience with React-based web applications and APIs
- Deep experience with Adobe Experience
- Manager (AEM) (3+ years strongly preferred)
- Solid knowledge of Java / Spring Boot and modern backend integration patterns
- Experience with microservices, SPAs, event-driven and serverless architectures
- Strong understanding of PCI, WCAG, PII, encryption, and security best practices
E‑Commerce & Web Stack
- Salesforce Commerce Cloud, OMS, CRM integrations
- API Gateways, GraphQL, OAuth
- CDN, DNS, SSL, Akamai / edge computing
- AI-driven search (e.g., Coveo or similar)
Cloud & DevOps
- AWS (API Gateway, containerized services)
- Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform / CloudFormation
- CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket
- Monitoring: Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana
Quality & Testing
- Automated testing and QA tools: Playwright, BrowserStack, Xray
- Performance & security testing: K6, Lighthouse CI, SonarQube
AI Enablement
Hands-on use of AI tools (Copilot, OpenAI, Kiro AI) for development, testing, or analytics
