Java Backend Developer
Location: Charlotte, NC
Work Model: Hybrid - 3 days onsite per week
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer to join our engineering team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, databases, and event-driven architecture. Experience with Kafka, cloud technologies, and CI/CD is highly preferred.
This role is focused on developing scalable, high-performance backend services within a modern enterprise environment. Current Charlotte-area roles commonly emphasize Java/Spring Boot microservices, REST APIs, Kafka, databases, cloud deployment, and CI/CD.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Build reliable, high-performance, and secure backend services.
  • Work with relational and NoSQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
  • Develop event-driven applications using Apache Kafka or similar messaging technologies.
  • Implement unit, integration, and automated testing using JUnit and related frameworks.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Collaborate with architects, QA engineers, DevOps teams, business analysts, and other developers.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
  • Support cloud-native application development and containerized deployments.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and deliver high-quality software within sprint commitments.
  • Provide production support and resolve application issues when required.
