Job description

Position Summary:

The Technician works under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist and assists in the preparation, packaging, delivery, and charging of various medications in a manner consistent with Federal and State Laws, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals (JCAHO), and the Hospital's internal QA programs. The Technician will also be involved in inventory management functions, quality assurance activities and other pharmacy related activities, including the production of IVs.

Qualifications/Requirements

Education

High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited program as Pharmacy Technician.

Required licensures/certifications

Current Florida License as a Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern required.

Current PTCB.

Skills and Abilities

Must possess good oral and written communications skills in the English language. Basic computer skills. Good organizational skills.

Experience

Minimum of two years hospital experience preferred.
