We are seeking a dedicated and energetic 1099 Clinical Mental Health Counselor to join our private practice team. In this vital role, you will provide outpatient clinical services, supervise graduate-level clinicians, and support the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based mental health care. This position offers a structured, part-time opportunity to maintain direct clinical work while providing supervision and clinical consultation within a collaborative private practice and school setting.
Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, looking to grow in an established practice. This clinician should be well versed in a variety of modalities including play therapy and expressive arts, feels comfortable in individual and group sessions and confident in supporting grad interns and experience collaborating with school teams.
Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning for clients ages 5 and up addressing Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Trauma, behavioral concerns, parenting challenges, and social-emotional needs with a diverse population
- Maintain a structured caseload with minimum of 6 clients scheduled for in-person or virtual per week
- Supervise a graduate intern in delivering evidence-based individual and group therapy such as play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy and expressive arts therapy.
- Oversee client care documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and accurate medical records management with our existing EHR
- Provide crisis intervention and crisis management support to clients experiencing mental health emergencies or behavioral challenges
- Collaborate with key stakeholders case management including parents, school personnel, medical professionals and legal representatives
Clinical Supervision & Leadership
- Supervise and mentor graduate counseling intern in accordance with university expectations
- Provide clinical oversight, case consultation, and documentation review to meet ethical standards
- Support intern development in assessment, treatment planning, and ethical practice aligned with graduate intern clinical philosophy
- Ensure adherence to clinical standards, diagnostic accuracy, and quality of care.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director regarding intern progression, clinical consultation and continuity of care
- Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina LCMHCA/LCMHC credential in good standing
- Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Ability to balance direct clinical care with supervisory responsibilities
- We are looking for someone who is organized, ethically grounded, and experienced in providing high-quality care across diverse clinical presentations while supporting clinician development.
- Paneled with BCBS insurance is a must
- Experience working within school systems is a plus
