The Research Intern role within Connor Whole Health offers a unique chance to become part of a dynamic, collaborative interdisciplinary team. This position adds value to patient care and assists the research department.

We currently offer an opportunity for a PRN, days Intern to help support research efforts for our integrative medicine patients in Northeast Ohio.

A Brief Overview

Serves as the research assistant for research projects and initiatives throughout the assigned department.

What You Will Do

  • Recruit and/or interview study subjects
  • Travel to different locations to collect data as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of data, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary
  • Manage and reply to project-related correspondence
  • Provide flexible administrative support as needed

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree with a strong record of academic achievement (Required)

Work Experience

  • Prior experience handling research responsibilities. (Preferred)

  • Ability to work independently but know when to seek help (Required proficiency)
  • Sophisticated interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive information and to interact at all levels of the organization (Required proficiency)

Position Details/Preferred Qualifications

This PRN Research Intern in our Connor Whole Health will support policy-focused research and data analysis aimed at demonstrating how Whole Health approaches can serve as models for transforming health systems, as well as advancing public policies that expand access to integrative medicine and lifestyle medicine. The intern will help summarize and synthesize Connor Whole Health initiatives and programs to communicate their implications for organizational strategy, health system implementation, reimbursement, and broader public policy. Example projects may include examining the cost implications of implementing health coaching programs, assessing the implications of Medicare changes to Shared Medical Appointment reimbursement, identifying opportunities to align Whole Health services with value-based care models, and exploring policy changes that would allow chiropractors and licensed acupuncturists to bill for services. The ideal candidate will have strong written and communication skills, the ability to synthesize large amounts of complex information and communicate findings effectively to diverse stakeholders at both organizational and public policy levels, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience conducting data analysis using platforms such as R or SPSS is preferred. Travel is required between a few of our locations, including Beachwood, Cleveland, and Shaker Heights, but remote opportunities are also available. Hours are variable but should be consistent on a weekly basis.
