Job description

he Health Promotion Specialist is responsible for conducting health education programs that educate and encourage disease prevention and promote health and wellness.  Evaluates class needs, recommends ongoing improvement of each program and provides new ideas for consideration.  Programs may be for the general community or targeted populations.

Position Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: BS degree in nursing, health promotion, wellness, public health or other related degree
  • Preferred Education: Health related Bachelor’s degree. Spanish speaking, writing and reading skills.
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year related experience         
  • Preferred Experience: Community health care/public health experience.          
  • Certifications Required: CPR
  • Certifications Preferred: CHES
  • Competencies: Competency in finger-sticks, flu shots, and other clinical screens related to Community Outreach Services
