Job description

Overview

SUMMER 2027

Shure offers a challenging, fun, and rewarding summer internship program. The twelve-week program is offered to undergraduate and graduate students. We offer internships with a variety of work arrangements from onsite interns to fully remote in US. Each intern will receive a competitive salary. Additionally, Interns who are asked to relocate to Illinois for onsite internships will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses. Applications will be collected, reviewed, and selected candidates will be contacted in late fall/early winter.

As theย Electrical Engineering Intern (RFย Circuitry), you will work under the close direction of senior staff on the design, implementation,ย and testingย ofย electronic circuits forย wireless microphonesย and wirelessย conference systems.

This Internship is Onsite in Niles, IL.

Responsibilities
  • Designing, simulating,ย and testingย RFย circuitryย ย 
  • Developing printed circuit board assembliesย 
  • Assembling prototypesย 
  • Performing validation testing of circuitsย 
  • Circuit defect analysisย and resolutionย 
  • Performing system/sub-system level testsย 
  • Documentationย 
  • Completing an independent design projectย 
Qualifications
  • Two years of coursework in Electrical Engineering orย aย related area.ย 
  • Basic knowledge ofย RF amplifiers, mixers, synthesizers, filters, antennas,ย pre-built modules, and otherย RFย components.ย ย 
  • Basic knowledge of audio related circuits, audio systems, and audio measurement techniques.ย 
  • Basic knowledge of test equipment such asย signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.ย 
  • Soldering and circuitry building or repair skillsย 
  • Ability to work independently withย aย high degree of accuracy andย anย attentionย to detail.ย 
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a teamย 
  • Experience with schematic CAD software, PCB layout, and SPICE simulation software is a plus.ย 
  • Experience withย ADS, HFSS, and Pythonย is a plus.ย
