A-10 Instructor/Subject Matter Expert (I/SME)
Location
Moody AFB - Moody AFB, GA 31699 US (Primary)
Position Summary and Job Responsibilities
Provide A-10C academic and simulator instruction at Moody AFB. This position delivers Instrument Refresher Course (IRC) academics and operates A-10C Full Mission Trainer (FMT) in support of Continuation Training (CT) and Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) simulation missions. The A-10 I/SME will ensure all learning objectives and performance standards are met per ACC/FTU directives and contract requirements.
Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver A-10C academic instruction, including Instrument Refresher Course (IRC) academics, and ensure lessons and materials meet syllabus standards.
  • Conduct A-10C FMT (CT and DMO) simulator instruction, including preparation, briefing, event execution, debriefing, and student performance documentation.
  • Operate simulator systems and ensure training device events are conducted IAW approved syllabi and guidance.
  • Monitor student progress, provide corrective feedback, maintain training records, and support instructor qualification, certification, and continuation training requirements.
  • Maintain currency and working knowledge of applicable A-10C publications, instructional materials, and FTU academic/simulator procedures.

Required and/or Preferred Qualifications
  • MUST BE U.S. CITIZEN
  • Previous A-10C Instructor Pilot (IP)
  • Minimum 500 hours A-10C flight time
  • Completion of a Criterion-Referenced Instruction (CRI) course (or equivalent: AFAIS, ACC Classroom Instructor Course, AF Weapons School)
  • A-10C qualification within the last 3 years, or contract A-10C instructor qualification within last 2 years desired.
  • Graduate of the Air Force Advanced Instrument School (AFAIS), ACC Classroom Instructor Course, Air Force Weapons School or equivalent desired.
  • Requires SECRET DoD Security Clearance.
