PSE'sย Customer Energy Mgmt & Renewablesย team is looking for qualified candidates to fill anย openย Energy Management Engineer IIIย position!

Job Description

The main responsibilties of the Energy Management Engineer III include overseeing and performing all aspects of efficiency projects with business customer facilities for several PSE energy efficiency programs under tariffed electric and gas conservation schedules.ย  Specific duties may include 1) Managing and implementing all phases of projects with customers from development through final installation verification, 2) management of specific programs and initiatives, and 3) negotiations with and oversight of outside contractors.ย  Assignments involve customer projects with substantial technical complexity and initial identification and development of programs, including budgets and savings targets.

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety. Demonstrates commitment to conduct business honestly, ethically and consistent with our core values and Code of Conduct. ย Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations.

This job is considered "safety sensitive" as defined in RCW 49.44.240 and is subject to pre-employment drug screening that includes screening for the presence of marijuana and marijuana metabolites.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provides technical and project management leadership to customer projects to produce sustainable energy savings by performing or overseeing Energy audits of building energy systems including:
    • review of facility energy-usage patterns
    • detailed analyses of complex efficiency measures including energy use modeling
    • the applicability and recommendations of measures for achieving greater energy efficiency of measures to customer facilities and operations
    • final inspection of completed projects; and end-use monitoring of electrical loads with data analysis.
    • subject matter expert in electrical or mechanical aspects of energy efficiency.
  • Provides exceptional customer service by managing customer expectations by clearly communicating status and next steps.
  • Identifies, evaluates, develops, and implements market-centric programs and related tariffs to produce sustainable energy savings more effectively by identifying barriers and developing solutions.
  • Implements projects and programs while ensuring compliance of all tariffs and all financial procedures, develops new and revised department policy proposals to increase effectiveness of programs and services.
  • Markets efficiency programs to eligible customers and various organizations.
  • Maintains positive contractor relationship to ensure positive project development and follow-through.
  • Provides technical expertise to others with in the Company, assists in the development of the efficiency supply curves analysis.
  • Consults with others on technical, regulatory policy and financial analyses.
  • Monitors the development and market acceptability of new energy technologies.
  • Supports emergency response work as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree or PE license in electrical, mechanical, civil or other appropriate engineering field
  • Substantial experience in energy efficiency project planning, design, specification review, technical field work, project cost estimating (typically achieved after 5 or more years practice as a degreed engineer). Years of acquired experience is provided as a guide and alone does not constitute readiness for job level as individual's skill acquisition rates can vary significantly.
  • Demonstrated organization, documentation, prioritization, and project management skills
  • Experience leading energy efficiency projects
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external customers
  • Subject matter expert in electrical or mechanical aspects of energy efficiency
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in aspects of program development, including understanding both internal and external processes necessary to market, sell, deliver, verify and track energy efficiency project activity
  • Customer service experience
  • Utility industry experience
  • Possession of a Professional Engineering License and CEM or other energy credentials

The pay range for this position isย $94,300.00ย -ย $156,900.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.ย
