Job description

About Lynk
Lynk is the inventor of satellite direct to device (D2D) technology, and has the world's only commercial license from the FCC to operate a commercial D2D system. Today, Lynk allows mobile network operators' subscribers to send and receive text messages to and from space via standard unmodified, mobile devices. Lynk's service has been tested and proven on all seven continents, has regulatory approvals in more than 30 countries and is currently being deployed commercially based on more than 40 MNO commercial service contracts covering approximately 50 countries.
Our technology will enable all 8 billion people on the planet to stay connected with the existing standard phone in their pocket. Everywhere. No matter what.
By joining Lynk, you will have the opportunity to directly touch the lives of billions. Your mission will be to bring mobile broadband to billions, pull hundreds of millions out of poverty, and save countless lives.
Role Overview
As an Electrical Engineering Intern at Lynk, you will support the design, development, and testing of electronics and RF hardware used in Lynk's nanosatellite bus and communications payload. Working closely with experienced Electrical Engineers, you will contribute to schematic-level design, circuit board bring-up, lab testing, and iterative integration activities across satellite bus and payload subsystems. This role provides hands-on exposure to real spacecraft hardware, lab environments, and cross-disciplinary engineering work.
Core Responsibilities
  • Assist with design and development of spacecraft bus and payload electronics, including support for circuit schematics, component selection, and layout review.
  • Support assembly, bring-up, and testing of circuit boards, including troubleshooting and debugging under guidance.
  • Participate in lab testing and validation, using standard electrical and RF test equipment.
  • Assist with simulation, analysis, and documentation related to circuit and subsystem performance.
  • Support firmware or test software development used for board validation and testing.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, test reports, and design artifacts.
  • Participate in design reviews and integration activities with electrical, RF, software, and mechanical engineering teams.

Required
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Coursework or project experience in electronics, circuit design, or signals and systems.
  • Familiarity with schematic capture, circuit simulation, or PCB concepts.
  • Basic experience working in a lab environment and using electrical test equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.

Preferred
  • Exposure to RF concepts, communications systems, or satellite hardware through coursework or projects.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based systems.
  • Programming experience in C, C++, Python, or MATLAB.
  • Interest in hardware/software integration and embedded systems.
What You'll Gain
  • Hands-on experience with spacecraft electronics and RF systems.
  • Exposure to the full design, integration, and test lifecycle of satellite hardware.
  • Mentorship from experienced Electrical Engineers working on flight and ground systems.
  • Practical lab, documentation, and engineering workflow experience in a space startup environment.
