Nancy We have a permanent position for an embedded systems engineer in Alexandria, VA. Due to the work, you must be a US citizen to apply. This role is 100% onsite. Embedded Systems Engineer will play an instrumental role in the development and implementation of an entirely new scientific approach to communications and sensing in some of the most difficult physical environments. The platforms developed will use Plasmonics to enable communications outside the capabilities of all current wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, radio, acoustics, and optical, and in so doing will open up new capabilities in multiple industries and use cases. The applicant will aim to develop embedded systems and internal test/experimental capabilities for a suite of unique products that span both the government and commercial domains. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND Expertise designing and building embedded systems involving Radiofrequency, Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS), Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), RF signal processing, and related technologies. Experience designing, shipping, and supporting embedded systems in production, preferably in both government (DOD) and commercial sectors. Experience working with the physical element of embedded systems: power, form factor, and other criteria. Experience building mesh networks of embedded systems. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with audiences of diverse backgrounds and disciplines. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND Cybersecurity expertise with embedded systems used in critical environments such as DOD, IIoT, etc. Experience with noise filtering for RF. Machine Learning (ML) experience, especially reinforcement learning. Ability to deploy reinforcement learning models.
