Job description

Overview:

The Quality Engineering Intern supports the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering groups by assisting with quality processes, documentation, continuous improvement initiatives, and engineering support activities. This role provides hands-on experience working with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to help ensure products and processes meet company and customer requirements. The internship is designed to expose students to real-world engineering operations, quality systems, and manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Electrical and Mechanical Engineering teams with quality and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in reviewing engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and documentation for accuracy and consistency.
  • Help track Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities for manufacturing or engineering issues.
  • Assist with maintaining inspection records, quality reports, and engineering documentation.
  • Support the development and organization of engineering procedures, forms, templates, and process documentation.
  • Help collect and analyze quality data, KPIs, and production metrics.
  • Assist with internal audits, process reviews, and compliance activities.
  • Provide handson support to engineering and manufacturing teams during testing, troubleshooting, and process improvement efforts.
  • Support continuous improvement projects related to engineering workflows, documentation, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality.
  • KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSMinimum Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical field.
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to learn and work in a fastpaced engineering environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exposure to engineering drawings, schematics, or CAD systems.
  • Familiarity with quality systems, ISO standards, or continuous improvement concepts.
  • Interest in manufacturing, quality engineering, or process improvement.
  • Experience with Excel, data analysis, or technical documentation.
