We are seeking a skilled RDIM/RAVEN Software (Visualization) Engineer to support cutting-edge analytics and reporting systems in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
Job Summary
The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Force Readiness is seeking an experienced RDIM/RAVEN Software (Visualization) Engineer to support the institutionalization and adoption of analytics systems. This role involves developing user documentation, facilitating software design, and ensuring systems align with user and organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities

  • Documentation Development:
    • Record assumptions, capabilities, methodologies, and limitations for the Readiness Decision Impact Model (RDIM) to support model validation, verification, and accreditation.
    • Write comprehensive software user manuals and create "getting started" guides for the Readiness Analytics Visualization Environment (RAVEN).
    • Develop user acceptance testing guides for RAVEN applications.
  • System Design and Requirements:
    • Outline software system design for seamless integration between RDIM and RAVEN.
    • Capture and translate client requirements into actionable development priorities.
    • Create and maintain Concept of Operations (CONOPS) documentation.
  • Visualization and UI/UX Design:
    • Design intuitive, user-friendly interfaces to present complex data insights.
    • Build and optimize interactive dashboards using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong technical writing skills with experience in creating system requirements documents and user manuals.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Python-based data models and their integration into visual environments.
Preferred:
  • Background in UI/UX design principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with defense or government analytics settings.
  • Active Secret security clearance (Top Secret preferred).
Skills:
  • Expertise in data analysis, data mining, and creating interactive dashboards.
  • Exceptional communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Work Arrangement: Primarily onsite with hybrid flexibility.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Regular use of a computer and standard office equipment.
