Help Students Reach Their Potential

TX-STAR Speech Language Services partners with school districts throughout Texas to connect students with the communication services they need to succeed. We are currently seeking Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants for school-based opportunities in San Antonio and nearby communities.

These positions are a strong fit for professionals who enjoy helping students strengthen their speech and language skills while working under the direction of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant, you will help deliver therapy services and structured interventions to students with a variety of communication needs.

In this role, you will:

  • Carry out speech and language activities developed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist

  • Help students make progress toward communication goals identified in their Individualized Education Programs

  • Provide direct services in individual and small-group settings as assigned

  • Support students with articulation, receptive and expressive language, fluency, and other communication needs

  • Collect performance data and document student participation and progress during therapy sessions

  • Prepare instructional resources, therapy materials, and activities before scheduled services

  • Maintain organized service records and complete required documentation within established timelines

  • Coordinate with the supervising SLP, teachers, campus staff, and other members of the educational team

  • Follow treatment plans, district procedures, supervision requirements, and applicable compliance standards

Qualifications for This Position

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field

  • Current Texas license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant

  • Ability to provide services under the supervision and direction of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist

  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and time-management skills

  • Ability to work effectively with students, educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams

  • Valid Texas driver’s license when travel between campuses is required

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred
