Job description

Description of Work Muskegon County is seeking a detail-oriented Website Content and Quality Assurance Intern to assist with the ongoing migration and review of content for a new county website. This position will help ensure that information from the County's existing website is appropriately represented, organized, and maintained within a new content management system. The successful candidate will compare existing and new website content, identify missing information, improve content quality, and help ensure the website meets modern standards for usability, accessibility, and search engine optimization.

This is not a data-entry position. The ideal candidate will be comfortable evaluating content, identifying gaps and inconsistencies, and making recommendations for improvement. Required Minimum Entrance Qualifications Required Qualifications Excellent attention to detail.

Strong written communication, proofreading, and editing skills. Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks. Organizational and analytical skills.

Ability to compare large amounts of information and identify discrepancies. Willingness and ability to learn new web content systems quickly. Basic understanding of websites and web navigation principles.

Comfortable receiving feedback and incorporating revisions. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with a content management system (CMS). Experience with HTML.

Familiarity with website content creation and management. Understanding of SEO concepts and best practices. Familiarity with web accessibility concepts (ADA and WCAG standards).

Experience with website migration or web publishing. Coursework or experience in web development, communications, user experience, or related fields. Physical Conditions / Work Location This internship is on-site in the Muskegon County IT Departments offices.

Real-world experience managing a large public-facing website. Schedule Approximately 8-12 hours per week. Fixed schedule preferred.

In-office position only. Weekly (or more often based on schedule) check-in and planning meetings with the Web Developer.
