Job description

BASIC PURPOSE: The position is responsible for overseeing the profitability reporting of all Musket trades, from inception to final settlement, along with training analysts, teaching troubleshooting skills, providing help with daily reconciliations, and providing coaching and performing annual evaluations for the team. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (a combination of any of the below, as necessary):

  • Coaching and performance evaluation for the Trade Reporting and Logistics team.
  • Review exposure, mark to market (MTM), and profitability reporting of all transactions for accuracy and reasonability.
  • Have a thorough understanding of SRA scheduling, profit/loss reporting, transaction rebooking, accounting close, and all subsequent impacts on profitability and train/coach direct reports on these same skillsets. 
  • Ensure proper staffing of the team to adequately support commercial trading activities and coverage between team members.
  • Work with contract administration, accounting, inventory control, and third parties to resolve pricing or volume discrepancies.
  • Facilitate scoping and planning for new business ventures, including coordinating testing and ultimately providing final review of tested exposure/PNL reporting.
  • Assist with the year end audit around transaction documentation.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Advanced degree or commodity/risk certification preferred.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in the energy industry preferred.

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Skills:

  • Hard Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office, experience with Right Angle required.  Experience with commodity risk exposure reporting required.
  • Soft Skills: Good written and oral communication skills, team player, exceptional customer service, attention to detail, self motivated, good time management skills, and innovative thinking

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
  • Travel may be required
