Job description

Vice President, Procurement

Location: San Antonio, TX

Are you ready to build and lead a world-class procurement organization while transforming the future of procurement for a rapidly growing international food manufacturer? This is a rare opportunity to shape enterprise strategy, drive innovation, and leave a lasting impact on a growing organization.

This executive leadership role reports directly to the Chief Supply Chain Officer and is responsible for developing and executing the enterprise procurement strategy across 30+ manufacturing facilities. You'll oversee strategic sourcing, commodity risk management, supplier partnerships, category management, indirect procurement, and digital transformation initiatives that directly impact profitability and long-term growth.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the company's enterprise procurement strategy aligned with growth, margin expansion, supply continuity, and shareholder value.
  • Lead procurement across ingredients, packaging, contract manufacturing, MRO, logistics, capital equipment, indirect spend, IT, facilities, and corporate services.
  • Build best-in-class category management and strategic sourcing capabilities.
  • Drive commodity risk management strategies across agricultural inputs including grains, edible oils, sweeteners, dairy, cocoa, and related commodities.
  • Deliver measurable cost savings, working capital improvements, supplier innovation, and EBITDA growth.
  • Lead procurement transformation through analytics, AI-enabled decision tools, automation, and digital technologies.
  • Develop strategic supplier partnerships that improve innovation, resilience, quality, and customer value.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Finance, Commercial, Quality, Engineering, and R&D to support enterprise objectives.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement organization while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain leadership experience.
  • Executive leadership experience within commercial baking.
  • Strong background managing commodity-based supply chains and agricultural inputs.
  • Demonstrated success delivering cost savings, supplier performance improvements, working capital optimization, and procurement transformation.
  • Experience leading procurement for complex, multi-site manufacturing organizations with $500M+ managed spend.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Why This Opportunity?

This is a rare opportunity to influence enterprise strategy for a large, growing food manufacturer where procurement is viewed as a strategic business partner—not simply a purchasing function. The Vice President will have executive visibility, significant organizational impact, and the opportunity to shape the future procurement strategy of a international manufacturing organization.
