100% Onsite
12+ Month Contract (Extensions Possible)
$95.00–$100.00 Hourly W2
Must be qualified to obtain Level II Security Clearance
No Corp to Corp or 3rd party agencies 
 
Our client is seeking a hands-on Database Cloud Engineer to design, build, and support AWS cloud database infrastructure while assisting with the migration of enterprise Oracle and SQL databases from on-premises environments to AWS. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience who is passionate about cloud architecture, automation, and high-availability database platforms.
 
Must-Have Skills
  • Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
  • AWS Architecture
  • AWS RDS 
  • AWS database technical skills at least one of the cloud database skills -  (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB,  Mongo Atlas, NoSql, Oracle RDS databases 
  • Strong SQL

  • Containerization technologies including AWS EKS, ECS, Kubernetes, and Docker
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and support secure, scalable, and highly available AWS cloud database solutions.
  • Assist with migrating Oracle and SQL databases from on-premises environments to AWS.
  • Deploy and maintain multi-region AWS database environments for high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and GitLab pipelines.
  • Write IaC to deploy custom applications and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) tools in AWS.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to deliver cloud-based database solutions.
  • Support AWS networking components including VPCs, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect.
  • Participate in additional cloud infrastructure initiatives and technical projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor''''''''s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience designing and supporting AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong experience with Terraform and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with AWS RDS databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL and Oracle.
  • Experience with Amazon Redshift.
  • Experience migrating enterprise databases to AWS.
  • Experience deploying and supporting multi-region AWS environments.
  • Practical knowledge of AWS infrastructure, including compute, network, and storage.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS networking technologies including VPC, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Databricks and MongoDB/MongoDB Atlas.
  • Experience with containerization technologies including AWS EKS, ECS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud database environments in highly regulated organizations.
