Intern, Clinical - Pediatric Dietitian, FT Days

Description

Under the direction of a Clinical Pediatric Dietitian Registered, the Intern Clinical Pediatric Dietitian performs primary duties and responsibilities for the nutrition care of pediatric patients throughout El Paso Children's Hospital. Works closely with the interdisciplinary health care team to provide clinical nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy that are integrated and compatible with the pediatric patient's medical program goals and objectives. Primary responsibilities include developing and implementing clinical nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy using established standards of care and practice protocols/guidelines; managing resources in a cost-effective manner; and participating in performance improvement efforts.

Qualifications

Work Experience:

  • One year experience as a nutrition technician or formula technician in pediatric acute care setting experience preferred.

Licensure/Registration/Certification

  • Registered Dietitian Eligible by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association
  • Eligible for the Registered Dietitian Exam
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, or related area, from an accredited college or university.
  • Completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
