We have an outstanding Contract position for a Circuit Design Engineer to join a leading Company located in the Orlando, FL surrounding area.
**US Citizenship is required.**
**Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.**
As the Senior Circuit Design Engineer, you will own the end-to-end design of the CCA, translating system requirements into reliable, production-ready circuit cards that power, communicate with, and integrate into the launcher's subsystems. You will work hand in hand with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers, perform verification and validation, and ensure every design meets rigorous power conditioning, signal integrity, and environmental standards.
Responsibilities:
- Defining performance, power, and interface requirements for the CCA and documenting them in clear, traceable specifications.
- Creating schematic capture, PCB layout, and bill of materials (BOM) using industry standard tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence).
- Conducting simulation, signal integrity, and power analysis studies to validate design choices early in the development cycle.
- Building and testing prototype hardware in the lab, troubleshooting issues, and iterating designs to meet V&V milestones.
- Coordinating with mechanical and systems teams to ensure seamless integration with launcher subsystems and compliance with SWaP C constraints.
- Preparing and delivering technical briefings, design reviews, and status updates for senior engineering, program management, and customers.
- Managing configuration control, documentation, and change requests in the PLM system to maintain a robust, audit-ready design history.
- Supporting environmental qualification (vibration, shock, thermal, radiation) and analyzing results to drive design improvements.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in circuit design engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience with circuit card design, integration, and test for one or more of the following: digital electronics, power electronics, analog/mixed-signal, or FPGA-based processor boards.
- Experience with Siemens Xpedition Enterprise or equivalent for schematic capture.
- Experience with Cadence PSpice or equivalent for circuit simulation and analysis.
- Experience with signal integrity tools such as Mentor Graphics Hyperlynx or equivalent.
- Experience with developing and refining system, performance, interface, and environmental requirements for circuit card designs.
- Must be a US Citizen; must possess or be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with MFC circuit card design processes and the Design Assurance process.
- Experience with military standards and specifications, including MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-704.
- Experience with Xilinx/AMD FPGA families (UltraScale, Versal).
- High-speed design experience, including PCIe, Gigabit Ethernet, SERDES, or DDR4/5 memory interfaces.
- MATLAB experience for analysis and simulation.
- Experience with MOSA (Modular Open Systems Architecture) and WOSA (Weapon Open Systems Architecture).
- Experience with CAMEO or equivalent requirements management tools.
- Experience with rigid-flex circuit card design.
- Experience with environmental qualification testing (vibration, shock, thermal, radiation).
- Demonstrated effective communication skills.
- Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance.
Military connected talent encouraged to apply.
