Intern Software Developer positions are broader, involving multiple languages and application development. While both roles are entry-level, their work environments and skill requirements differ significantly.

What does an intern C programming language do?

An Intern C Programming Language typically assists with software development tasks that involve writing, testing, and debugging code in the C programming language. They work under the supervision of experienced developers, contribute to ongoing projects, and may help with documentation or troubleshooting bugs. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in programming, improve their technical skills, and learn about professional software development workflows in a real-world environment.

What types of projects or tasks can an intern specializing in C programming expect to work on?

As a C programming language intern, you can expect to be involved in a variety of hands-on tasks such as debugging legacy code, writing and testing new modules, and contributing to ongoing software development projects. Interns often work closely with experienced developers, gaining exposure to code reviews and collaborating on solutions to real-world programming challenges. This role provides a valuable opportunity to deepen your understanding of low-level programming concepts and to see how C code integrates with broader system architectures. You'll also develop skills in version control and teamwork, both of which are highly valued in the software industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an intern C programming language, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Intern C Programming Language, you need a solid understanding of C syntax, algorithms, data structures, and typically coursework or a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with development environments like GCC, debugging tools such as GDB, and version control systems like Git is often required. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively within a team are highly valued soft skills. These competencies ensure that interns can contribute to code development, troubleshoot issues efficiently, and collaborate productively in software engineering environments.

Job description

About the Role
This is a rare opportunity to join a pre-seed AI startup at the very beginning as a Founding Engineer Intern. You'll build and ship features daily alongside the CTO, working on a fully agentic system that automates the talent-matching and headhunting process end-to-end. You'll have real ownership across the full stack - from ideation to production - and directly shape how the product evolves. The team operates in a high-velocity, founder-driven culture, including a hacker-house setup with flexibility for remote work.
This role is based in San Francisco, CA, with openness to working in hacker houses in Latin America. Visa sponsorship is available.
What You'll Do
  • Build and ship end-to-end features to production on a daily cadence.
  • Collaborate closely with the CTO and founding team to own components from ideation to deployment.
  • Develop and iterate on a fully agentic AI system to automate talent matching and headhunting.
  • Engage directly with users to measure impact on hiring speed and experience.
  • Contribute to a fast, high-output, low-ego engineering culture.
  • Work with a strong ownership mindset in a hacker-house/remote-forward environment.
What We're Looking For
Required:
  • At least 6 months of hands-on experience with React and TypeScript in production environments.
  • Experience with Cursor, Supabase, Prisma, and Typesense in a production React/TypeScript stack.
  • Full-stack profile - not primarily an ML engineer, and not heavily siloed in a single stack (e.g., Python-only or C++-only).
  • Currently enrolled in or pursuing a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to take features from idea to production independently.
  • Experience working in entrepreneurial, scrappy, or fast-moving environments.
  • Open to working in hacker houses in Latin America.
  • Willing to work 7 days per week during the internship.
  • Something outstanding about your profile - top GPA, strong university, notable personal projects, or an active GitHub.

Nice to Have:
  • Portfolio or sample projects demonstrating full-stack development and/or open-source contributions.
Location
Based in San Francisco, CA. The team operates in a hacker-house and remote-forward setup, with openness to hacker houses in Latin America. This is an on-site/in-person-forward role. Visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation details were not provided for this role. You'll be working directly with the founding team with a high degree of ownership and impact from day one, in one of the most formative stages of a fast-growing AI startup.
