Job description

For over two decades, Kranz Consulting has been the recognized leader in providing superior financial consulting advisory services requested by CEO’s, Boards, CFO’s and the most prominent Venture Capital firms.

Kranz Consulting is seeking a Business Development Intern to join their Silicon Valley based team to manage the inside sales and marketing efforts for the Business Development team. Your responsibilities will be focused on supporting the Kranz teams to drive new client retention, development and growth.

Ideal candidates will have a BA/BS from an accredited four-year university along with interest in sales / business development career. This role is the best possible place to start a career in sales. Generous commission plan, training program and benefits.

This is an on-site position, based in our San Francisco office.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule and attend meetings on behalf of the Senior Vice President and Business Development team with new clients and prospects using cold calls, warm outreach, email campaigns, social media, and referrals.

  • Conduct research on target companies and develop strategies to establish and grow relationships.

  • Monitor market trends and apply relevant insights to support business development efforts within assigned accounts.

  • Analyze the regional market landscape to prioritize accounts and identify high-potential opportunities.

  • Create and manage email campaigns, track engagement, and follow up on responses or client interest.

  • Maintain an accurate CRM/contact database through ongoing research and prospect identification.

  • Support ongoing client relationships by ensuring timely follow-ups and meeting coordination.

  • Assist the sales team by preparing custom materials such as project profiles, engagement confirmations, marketing collateral, and ad hoc requests.

  • Conduct research on clients and prospects; prepare summary reports for the SVP/BD team on key developments such as funding rounds, M&A activity, earnings reports, and executive leadership changes.

  • Contribute content for company social media channels and newsletters to support brand visibility and client engagement.

  • Assist the SVP/BD team in responding to RFPs and preparing tailored proposals and presentations.

  • Must be a collaborative team player who can also work independently.

  • Support event planning efforts by coordinating and attending networking events, and working with Kranz partners to execute targeted prospect initiatives

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting preferred.

  • 2–3 years of experience in B2B business development and/or a financial services role, with a foundational background in accounting or finance.

  • Demonstrated interest in building a career in business development, with strong closing skills and the ability to cultivate client relationships.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong sense of urgency.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Google Workspace; intermediate to advanced skill level preferred.

  • Familiarity with CRM tools such as HubSpot and Salesforce is a plus but not required.

  • Self-motivated and competitive, with a strong drive to achieve goals.
