Civil Engineering Intern | San Antonio, TX

IMEG is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern in Dallas, TX. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of civil systems. This paid, mentored internship offers real project work supporting field inspections, report writing, permit applications, site drainage and grading design, and learning the civil engineering trade.

You'll support project documentation, coordination, and job site observations while working with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to help meet project goals and client expectations. The team supports municipal, university, and utility work across Texas, delivering resilient, environmentally responsible infrastructure.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with design portions of civil projects according to code and IMEG standards
  • Research resources for commercially available equipment
  • Support client relations, maintain the project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files
  • Assist with coordinating design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical and equipment suppliers
  • Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
  • Review project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check
  • Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement

  • Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
