About the Team:

The Product Development Team at Gotion Illinois New Energy Inc. focuses on the design and development of advanced battery products for next-generation energy storage system (ESS) and electric vehicle (EV) applications. We lead the full product development cycle, integrating mechanical, electrical, thermal, and control system to create high-performance battery solutions, along with comprehensive system integration, validation, and certification activities.

Role Summary:

Join the Product Development Team as a BMS Application Engineer focused on delivering high-voltage battery systems for electric vehicles. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-growing team in the battery industry and contribute to the next generation of EV technology within a Tier 1 supplier environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the design and development of the electrical architecture of high-voltage battery systems, including BMS, CMU.
  • Assisting in translating customer and system-level requirements into feasible design and software solutions.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (BMS HW, BMS SW, FuSa, Systems, Testing) to ensure complete system integration.
  • Participating in RFQ/RFI processes by preparing technical input and documentation.
  • Supporting BMS hardware integration and communication interfaces (CAN/LIN).
  • Contributing to system validation, including electrical testing and troubleshooting.
  • Supporting DFMEA, DVP&R planning, and functional safety efforts aligned with ISO 26262.
  • Onsite OEM support for flashing, initial integration, troubleshooting
  • Collaborating with global teams, including some travel to suppliers or OEM sites.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the battery or EV industry, preferably in a BMS hardware or software role.
  • Exposure to high-voltage battery systems (400-1000V) including electronic/sw design.
  • Understanding of BMS, CAN communication, and automotive diagnostic protocols.
  • Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and automotive product development cycles.
  • Understanding of safety standards such as ISO 26262.
  • Proactive and collaborative mindset with strong communication skills in English.
  • Bilingual Chinese is a plus
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%, including visits to suppliers and OEMs, both domestic and international.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is 90,000.00 - 128,000.00 + 15% bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
