TemporaryManager - Model Risk Management (Global Banking Risk Technology)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experiencedManager, Model RiskManagementto support a large global bank's Risk Technology organization. This role will focus on model governance, model inventory oversight, independent model validation, ongoing performance monitoring, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate willpossessa strong understanding of Model Risk Management frameworks and regulatory expectations, with the ability to influence stakeholders across Risk, Technology, Compliance, and Business teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and oversee the enterprise model inventory, including model classification, ownership, lifecycle management, and governance compliance.

  • Lead oversight of independent model validation activities, ensuring models are appropriately tested, challenged, documented, and approved prior to implementation.

  • Monitor model performance, validation findings, and control issues, driving remediation efforts throughtimelyresolution and escalation whereappropriate.

  • Assess andoverseethird-party and vendor-provided models, including review of vendor methodologies, documentation, assumptions, controls, and validation evidence.

  • Support model risk tiering activities and risk-based governance decisions, ensuring controls arecommensuratewith model complexity, materiality, and risk exposure.

  • Partnerwith model owners, validators, risk managers, and business stakeholders to strengthen model governance andmaintaincompliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Produce clear and concise governance documentation, reporting, and presentations for senior management, risk committees, audit, and regulatory review.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Model Risk Management, Model Governance, Model Validation, Quantitative Risk, or Enterprise Risk Management within banking or financial services.

  • Strong knowledge of Model Risk Management regulatory guidance, includingSR 11-7,SR 26-2, and related supervisory expectations.

  • Hands-on experience with model inventory management, model governance, validation oversight, performance monitoring, and model risk assessments.

  • Experience reviewing and challenging model documentation, validation reports, remediation plans, and vendor model submissions.

  • Strong understanding of model lifecycle governance and risk-based control frameworks.

  • Proven ability to manage and influence stakeholders across multiple functional areas.

  • Excellent analytical, documentation, communication, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting a large global banking institution.

  • Exposure to regulatory exams, Internal Audit, or enterprise risk governance functions.

  • Experience overseeing third-party or vendor model governance programs.

  • Background supporting risk, finance, treasury, AML, market risk, credit risk, or operational risk models.

The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $54 - $82 per hour
