Position Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber Specialist PCB Layout Designer to support the development of next-generation critical communications and electronic systems for the Aerospace and Defense sector. In this strategic engineering role, your designs will power real-world mission success, supporting critical communication frameworks used by defense personnel and first responders.
You will utilize advanced EDA design software to modify, review, and validate complex PCB design packages for rigid, flexible, and rigid-flex printed circuit boards, ensuring absolute precision from schematic to final fabrication.
Core Responsibilities
  • Advanced PCB Layout: Utilize Mentor PADS or equivalent software to incorporate complex schematic, mechanical, and manufacturing inputs into state-of-the-art rigid, flex, and rigid-flex designs.
  • Manufacturing & NPI Checks: Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve fabrication, assembly, and test constraints identified through Valor NPI checks.
  • Data & Lifecycle Governance: Update layout design files and engineering documentation to incorporate changes to schematics, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and detailed mechanical drawings while maintaining precise PLM file structures.
  • Integrity Validation: Validate the structural integrity of end-to-end PCB design packages by verifying alignment across schematics, BOM configurations, mechanical parameters, and final assembly drawings.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education & Experience Baseline: * Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant engineering experience.
    • OR a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
    • OR an Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology with relevant years of track.
    • In lieu of a formal degree, a minimum of 8 years of validated prior layout engineering experience will be considered.
  • Technical Domain: Demonstrated hands-on track record in layout design within the Aerospace, Defense, Aviation, or high-reliability electronic systems industry.
  • Compliance & Work Status: Must be a U.S. Person/Citizen eligible to obtain a US Security Clearance if required by programs in the future. (Visa sponsorship/transfer is NOT available for this position).
Preferred Additional Skills & Tools
  • EDA Software Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with PCB design software such as PADS, Xpedition, Cadence, Valor, etc.
  • PLM Systems: Direct familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management tools (e.g., Agile, Teamcenter, or related documentation systems).
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Deep understanding of layout elements, fabrication stack-ups, IPC standards, assembly drawings, and relative documentation tracking.
  • Operational Schedule: Comfortability with a 9/80 Work Schedule (Employees work 9 out of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours, giving you every other Friday off).
Corporate Benefits Package
  • Full Comprehensive Healthcare Package (Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance).
  • 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with corporate company matching structures.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Continuous Education Assistance and Parental Leave.
  • Structured Paid Time Off (PTO) and Company-Paid Holidays.
