Job description

Ravago Americas LLC is conducting an initial search for qualified candidates for positions that are anticipated to become available with a separate startup drayage company that is currently being organized. Successful candidates will be employed directly by the new company upon commencement of operations.

Position Summary

The Terminal Manager leads day-to-day operations at the trucking terminal, overseeing dispatch, drivers, customer service, safety compliance, fleet utilization, financial performance, and employee development. This role is accountable for safe, efficient, and profitable operations while maintaining strong customer service and regulatory compliance.

Reports To: Director | Direct Reports: Dispatch & Drivers | Experience: 10+ years

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management: Lead daily terminal operations; ensure efficient use of drivers, equipment, and resources; monitor KPIs; improve processes; coordinate with customers and vendors.

Team Leadership: Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate staff; foster accountability and safety; conduct performance reviews; resolve conflicts.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company compliance; maintain a strong safety culture; monitor driver qualifications and hours of service; lead incident investigations.

Financial Performance: Manage budgets and expenses; analyze financial and operational reports; drive profitability through cost control.

Customer Relations: Build strong customer relationships; resolve service issues promptly; support business development.

Fleet & Equipment Management: Oversee fleet utilization and equipment availability; coordinate maintenance; manage company assets.

Systems & Technology: Use TMS to manage operations and reporting; generate reports; support process improvement.

Qualifications

Required: 10+ years in trucking/transportation/logistics; 5+ years in leadership or terminal management; strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations; proven experience managing drivers, dispatch, and customers; track record improving performance and profitability; strong leadership and communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation software.

Preferred: Experience with Trinium TMS; experience managing intermodal, drayage, container, or dedicated fleets; Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation, or related field.
