Requisition ID: 259774

 Salary Range:  -

Please note that the Salary Range shown is a guideline only. Salary offered may vary based on factors, including, but not limited to, the successful candidate's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.

Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.

Purpose

SGWM is seeking a Senior Developer to join the Investment Data Hub team, taking a lead technical role in the build-out and ongoing development of the IDH platform. You will be responsible for the technical architecture, implementation, and maintenance of data pipelines, integrations, and platform configurations that form the backbone of centralized investment data management across Scotia Global Wealth Management. This is a senior-level role with significant influence over technical direction and platform quality.

What You'll Do

Design, develop, and maintain data ingestion pipelines, transformation workflows, and business rules within the Opus EDM platform
Build and manage integrations between the IDH and upstream data vendors as well as downstream investment management systems including Charles River Development (CRD), SimCorp Dimension, Eagle PACE, and BarraOne
Implement and maintain EDM workflow configurations, data mastering rules, enrichment logic, and automated data quality controls
Develop and maintain API-based and file-based data feeds supporting the broader IDH ecosystem and downstream consumers
Collaborate with Senior BSAs and solution architects to translate functional requirements into robust technical designs and scalable data models
Lead root cause analysis on data pipeline failures, platform incidents, and data quality issues; implement fixes and preventive controls
Lead code reviews, define and enforce engineering standards, and drive continuous improvement of CI/CD pipeline practices
Mentor junior and intermediate developers; contribute to technical documentation, architecture decision records, and platform runbooks
Engage with Gresham (Opus EDM vendor) on platform upgrades, technical escalations, and roadmap planning

What You'll Bring

7+ years of hands-on development experience, with a minimum of 4 years directly on Markit EDM / S&P Global EDM / Opus EDM - including workflow development, platform configuration, scripting, and data mastering
Deep SQL expertise: complex queries, stored procedures, query performance tuning, and data reconciliation at scale
Proven experience designing and building integrations with downstream investment management platforms - specifically Charles River Development (CRD), SimCorp Dimension, Eagle PACE, and/or BarraOne
Strong proficiency in Python or equivalent scripting language for automation, data processing, and operational tooling
Solid understanding of investment data domains: securities reference data, pricing, corporate actions, benchmarks, and NAV/fund data
Demonstrated experience in technical leadership: conducting code reviews, defining standards, and mentoring team members
Experience working in agile/scrum delivery environments within large-scale financial data programs
Nice to Have
Experience with risk data workflows within BarraOne or equivalent factor risk platforms
Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms: GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer), Azure Synapse, or Databricks
Familiarity with REST API development and event-driven integration patterns
Exposure to DevOps tooling: Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker/Kubernetes containerization
Prior experience at a Canadian bank, pension fund, or large investment management organization
