The Sr Data Steward is responsible for performing accurate data entry, researching data requests, resolving escalated issues, interfacing with internal and external clients, and managing the governance of the master data system. This role plays a key part in ensuring the integrity, quality, and continuous improvement of the organization’s data assets.

The Company services a variety of trade channels including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics, and home centers. We bridge the gap between manufacturers and retailers, providing consumers access to the best products available in the marketplace today.


Responsibilities



  • Data Entry/Management, Quality & Cleansing: Input, update, and maintain data in databases and management systems. Ensure data is accurate, organized, and easily retrievable. Responsibilities include entering, auditing, and maintaining material, customer, and other related data in the MDG system. Manage helpdesk requests and utilize data governance tools and standards to maintain high master data quality. Create and maintain customer master data within the SAP MDG workflow in collaboration with functional areas and approvers. Identify and rectify outdated, incorrect, or duplicate data entries and implement processes for maintaining data quality over time.

  • Database Maintenance: Assist in optimizing database systems, performing regular backups, ensuring security protocols, and maintaining database performance.

  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate reports on data quality metrics, trends, and issues. Analyze data to support decision-making processes and monitor quality for opportunities for improvement. Validate data integrity for new client/customer requests.

  • Collaboration: Work with other departments to understand data needs and provide support for inquiries. Collaborate with IT teams to address technical data management issues. Provide technical support for master data objects, workflows, and practices.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with data governance policies, SLA, KPI metrics, and MDG standards.

  • Change Management: Manage and document changes to master data, ensuring updates are communicated to stakeholders and proper approvals are obtained.

  • Training and Support: Provide training to staff on data entry procedures and best practices. Assist users in navigating data systems.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving MDM processes and practices based on business needs, industry standards, and technological advancements.

Travel is not an essential duty of this job but may be required up to 10%.

Minimum Qualifications


Education Level:



  • Required: High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience

  • Preferred: Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience


Experience Requirements:



  • 3-5 years of experience in the grocery industry preferred

Office / Sedentary Requirements: Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically, requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may require the ability to lift up to 10lbs.
