Job Purpose:

Primary responsibility is to drive new sales to residential builders and interior designers in a particular area. Work requires substantial knowledge of items sold.

Essential Functions:

· Answer builder's and designers questions about products, prices, availability, product users, and credit terms.

· Acquire and facilitate the transfer of floor plans for measurement.

· Provide samples and catalogs and recommend products based on customers' needs and interests.

· Contact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate products and explain product features.

· Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, delivery rates, and solicit orders.

· Consult with clients after sales to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support.

· Prepare quotes and pricing that meet specific customer needs.

· Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.

· Monitor market conditions, product innovations, competitors' products, prices, and sales.

· Negotiate details of orders and payments and prepare sales order forms.

· Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, keeping sales records, and filing expense reports.
