Job description

Description

Project Luong Architects is seeking a talented and design-driven Interior Designer to help shape thoughtful, elevated environments within our civic, community, recreation, hospitality, and mixed-use projects.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for aesthetics and composition who also understands the technical realities of construction, detailing, material performance, and furniture coordination. We are looking for a designer who excels at concept development but can also move fluidly between concept development and technical execution - someone who cares equally about atmosphere, functionality, proportion, and the way spaces are ultimately experienced by people.

The ideal candidate is creative, highly organized, visually sophisticated, and capable of contributing meaningfully throughout all phases of design and documentation.

What You'll Do

  • Develop interior design concepts, palettes, material selections, and spatial experiences aligned with overall project vision
  • Contribute actively to project design direction and creative problem solving throughout all phases of work
  • Produce interior architecture and design documentation including plans, elevations, finish schedules, and detailing
  • Support coordination and consistency across drawing sets, specifications, and project documentation
  • Coordinate interior scope with architectural teams, consultants, vendors, and manufacturers
  • Research and specify interior finishes, furnishings, fixtures, lighting, and materials
  • Assist in furniture selection, layout planning, procurement coordination, and installation oversight
  • Prepare presentation materials, renderings, mood boards, and client-facing graphics, and physical material boards
  • Contribute to design discussions for the entirety of the project related to proportion, scale, materiality, lighting, and user experience.
  • Coordinate technical material specifications and ensure selections align with project budgets, durability, and constructability requirements
  • Lead interior-focused projects or project scopes with minimal oversight from senior staff
  • Support construction administration efforts including submittal review, finish verification, and field coordination
  • Participate in client meetings, vendor coordination, and project presentations
  • Maintain organization and consistency across project documentation and design deliverables
