Job description

We're Hiring: Security Systems Design Engineer – Revit / BIM · Low Voltage IK Systems · Victor, NY · Full-Time · $95,000 – $125,000


About the Role

IK Systems is a nationwide security systems integrator delivering engineered video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and integrated security solutions for complex commercial and institutional environments.

We are seeking a disciplined Revit / BIM Design Engineer to produce complete, standards-driven drawing packages within an established engineering framework. This is a production engineering position - not a general drafting role - responsible for executing structured, coordinated construction documentation inside defined company standards.


What You'll Do

  • Build and manage complete Revit drawing packages for video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and integrated security systems using established IK Systems templates and standards
  • Execute all work inside company Revit frameworks including view templates, browser organization, engineered families, tagging conventions, schedules, and sheet structure
  • Model security devices using 3D hosted families with correct parameters to support device counts, clash coordination, wire termination tracking, and panel assignments
  • Produce disciplined, legible drawing sets including plan views, elevations, mounting details, riser diagrams, and schedules that reconcile precisely to proposal scope
  • Separate disciplines appropriately across drawing packages and maintain consistent sheet numbering and naming conventions
  • Own your production schedule and internal deadlines while collaborating with sales, project management, and field operations teams

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of Revit production experience
  • Demonstrated experience producing full architectural-level construction drawing sets in commercial environments
  • Strong understanding of BIM modeling principles and structured documentation standards
  • High attention to detail in file organization, tagging, naming conventions, and sheet structure
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and proactively across departments
  • Valid driver's license required

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field - or equivalent combination of relevant experience and demonstrated Revit proficiency.
