Workplace Interior Designer ($85k-90k)


A well-established Houston architecture and design firm is seeking a Workplace Interior Designer to join its Workplace Interiors team. The studio partners with corporations, developers, and landlords to create high-performance workplaces designed to support creativity, collaboration, productivity, and long-term client goals.

As Workplace Interior Designer, you will help translate workplace strategy into thoughtful, functional environments while contributing to projects from early concept through documentation, construction, and installation.


Performance Objectives

  • Develop space plans, material palettes, and FF&E selections that support design intent and client performance goals on corporate interior projects.
  • Produce clear, buildable drawings and presentations using Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Advance projects from concept through documentation and installation while coordinating closely with architects, designers, project managers, and consultants.
  • Integrate building systems, applicable codes, ADA requirements, and commercial interior standards into accurate and constructible documentation.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining strong design quality, organization, and collaboration.
  • Contribute to construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, site observations, and coordination to help ensure the finished space reflects the approved design.

You will work within a collaborative Workplace Interiors studio in Houston alongside project managers, job captains, interior designers, architects, and consultants.

The team utilizes Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and established studio documentation standards. The environment emphasizes design quality, professional growth, collaboration, and hands-on involvement throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related accredited program.
  • 5–7 years of workplace or corporate interiors experience.
  • Experience taking interior projects from concept through documentation and installation.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong design sensibility and technical documentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of commercial interior materials, detailing, FF&E, accessibility requirements, and applicable codes.
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced studio environment.
