Position Description: HBG Design is seeking a skilled Interior Designer to contribute to the design and delivery of the firm’s high-profile hospitality and entertainment projects. The position will help lead a design team in the execution of interior designs and ensure that all results meet the established design goals for each project. The Successful Candidate:
If you are looking for an exciting new place to grow, HBG Design is seeking an experienced Interior Designer with the ability to be a self-starter and to build upon skills by seeking out responsibilities and learning from past experiences, mistakes, and exposure to other team members. This position requires a passion for design through research, travel, and exposure to trends, products, and spaces. The successful candidate will also possess high level analytical and problem-solving skills.
The Compensation:
$70,000 - $100,000 per year.
Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, regional cost of living, experience, and qualifications.
Position Responsibilities:
• Develop designs with multiple options and differentiations and possess the ability to communicate the differences.
• Lead interior designers on projects teams in concert with the Senior Interior Designer and Senior Architectural Designer.
• Understand project development and production processes at an advanced level.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Senior Architectural Designers, Senior Interior Designers, and other Interior Designers to evaluate performance of designers and share assessments.
• Follow through with the Client on pertinent issues in concert with the Senior Interior Designer and Project Manager.
• Initiate design concepts based on program requirements.
• Ensure that interiors projects and the interiors group are following HBG procedures and processes.
• Participate in industry-specific organizations and community/civic events on behalf of the firm, seeking opportunities to expand personal network and gain additional knowledge.
Qualifications:
• Licensed Interior Designer or in pursuit of NCIDQ examination to become a licensed Interior Designer.
• Six (6) years minimum practical experience in interior design, preferably in hospitality.
• Bachelor’s degree from Interior Design/Interior Architecture program.
• Fully competent in all aspects of interior design and thorough understanding of process, techniques, materials, and standards.
• Knowledge of building codes and other regulatory requirements that affect the safety and comfort of end users.
• Possess exceptional presentation, interpersonal, and graphic skills.
• Proficiency in Revit, InDesign, Photoshop, and SketchUp software programs is a must.
