Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking an Architecture Designer III in Philadelphia, PA.

Job Details:

  • Participate in early-phase concept and schematic design through collaborative and independent workflows
  • Utilize physical and digital media, including hand sketches, 3D modeling, and written narratives, to explore design feasibility and articulate design vision
  • Lead the design process for interior renovations and expansion projects, including development of interior finish schemes, lighting concepts, and furniture upholstery selections
  • Propose and implement strategic space-planning solutions for renovated and new program areas
  • Coordinate design across multiple design disciplines including, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, special systems, rail, aviation, and food service
  • Conduct code reviews and basic calculations to ensure life safety and zoning compliance
  • Create and refine construction documents including Basis of Design Reports, Drawings, and Specifications
  • Coordinate with material suppliers and product representatives to specify materials and products
  • Review and coordinate drawings across disciplines to resolve design clashes and construction issues
  • Perform BIM management and coordination between disciplines in a project
  • Develop technical details for building assemblies and connection drawings based on project-specific needs
  • Assist in the development of bid documents and administration of bidding process
  • Manage the tracking, logging, and distribution of Submittals and RFIs across multiple projects
  • Participate in weekly construction progress calls and collaborate with clients, construction managers, and contractors
  • Review and analyze submittals and RFIs for technical accuracy and compliance with Contract Documents
  • Complete site visits and reports
  • Produce 2D and 3D models from schematic design through construction documents using drafting platforms
  • Employ passenger simulation software to evaluate spatial efficiency and user experience in transportation and terminal environments using real-world data
  • Complete community outreach project participation with local community organizations
  • Assist in developing proposals and marketing documents
  • Support the development of interns and junior staff
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week
Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's of Architecture or a related field of study and 2 years of experience as a Architecture Designer, Architectural Intern, or a related occupation.

Experience and skills can be gained in pursuit of a university-level degree via coursework, projects, or internships. Skills may be gained concurrently. Position requires experience in the following:

  4. Microsoft Suite including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS OneNote, MS OneDrive, MS Forms, and MS, Teams
  5. Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator Adobe Lightroom
  6. CAST Simulation Software
  7. Lumion
  8. V-Ray
  9. Grasshopper
  10. Construction Management Platforms including Procore, EPPM, and BIM 360
  11. Bluebeam Revu
  12. Experience or completion of a project involving LiDAR scanning technology
  13. Experience or completion of a project involving the management of the BIM files of multiple projects
