Aker Development is a design-build construction company focused on residential infill and multifamily projects in the Pacific Northwest. We integrate design, construction, and execution to deliver high-quality, efficient, and thoughtfully designed spaces.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly capable Interior Designer to lead and execute design selections across multiple residential projects. This role is responsible for translating project vision into cohesive, buildable design packagesโ€”from interior finishes to exterior materials and landscape conceptsโ€”while coordinating closely with construction teams and vendors.

The ideal candidate combines strong design sensibility with practical construction awareness and can operate effectively in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.

Key Responsibilities Design & Selections
  • Develop cohesive interior and exterior design concepts aligned with project goals and market positioning
  • Select and specify interior finishes (flooring, tile, paint, wall treatments), cabinetry materials and configurations, lighting and plumbing fixtures, hardware (door, cabinet, bath accessories)
  • Produce clear and consistent color schemes and finish palettes across units and projects
Space Planning & Design Development
  • Provide furniture layouts and space planning as neededDesign accent walls and feature elements to elevate product differentiation
  • Contribute to landscape design concepts in coordination with project goals
  • Create renderings, visualizations, and design boards for internal and external use
  • Prepare presentation materials that clearly communicate design intent
Coordination & Execution
  • Work closely with internal teams (construction, project management) to ensure design feasibility and execution
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to source materials and confirm specifications
  • Interface with platforms, procurement systems, and vendors to manage selections and ordering workflows
Benefits & Compensation

Competitive base pay + incentive pay, depending on experience & qualifications in the $70,000 to $90,000 range.

Qualifications

  • Experience producing renderings and presentation-quality visuals
