JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

An Architectural Designer is a professional who is responsible for the design and development of residential architectural projects, from the initial concept through Construction Documents. The emphasis placed on the Schematic Design & Design Development phases of a project, with assistance during Construction Documents as needed. This is a highly creative position, and the ideal candidate should be detail oriented, understand residential construction methods, and be able solve complex problems.

The applicant must be familiar with residential design including single-family homes, townhomes, and multi-family stacked condo type buildings. The candidate would also have a keen understanding of basic interior design principles and best practices. Experience in community amenity design is preferred but not required.

This is a full-time in-office position.

DUTIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):
  • Conduct precedent research on similar product types as the project brief.
  • Develop architectural concepts and design solutions for residential and light commercial project types.
  • Prepare layouts, drawings, renderings, and 3D models to communicate design concepts.
  • Create design presentations/boards to present to the management team.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to meet project deliverables and deadlines.
EXPERIENCE
  • Highly Proficient in SketchUp or Rhino, and Revit.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Enscape.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or a related field.
  • Ability to hand draw ideas for concept exploration and deliverables.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience designing residential and commercial projects.
  • Knowledge of the latest building codes and regulatory requirements in Utah.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings of all disciplines.
