LiDAR & 3D Modeling Specialist / Land Survey CAD Technician - Primary Responsibilities:

  • Static and UAS derived LiDAR data collection in both interior and exterior environments
  • Assisting with setting conventional survey control for static and UAS derived LiDAR data collection efforts
  • Processing of static LiDAR data sets, including point cloud registration, QA/QC checks to survey control, and general preparation for data extraction
  • Processing of UAS derived imagery to orthophotography, including QA/QC checks to survey control and general preparation for data extraction
  • Processing of UAS derived aerial LiDAR data sets, including trajectory processing, QA/QC checks to survey control, point cloud data classification and general preparation for data extraction
  • Data extraction from orthophotography and point cloud data sets, including 2D planimetric features, 3D topography, and BIM modeling (including architectural, structural and MEP elements)
  • Reviewing assigned project files for necessary materials and information to carry out project scope and drafting tasks.
  • Providing thorough analysis of field notes, legal descriptions, title easements, design plans, utility plans and construction layout notes.
  • Developing an understanding of surveying concepts, our company business and how surveying is integrated into plans and projects, Transportation Plats, Condominium Plats, Subdivision Plats, legal descriptions and other survey exhibits.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

LiDAR & 3D Modeling Specialist / Land Survey CAD Technician – Skills and Requirements:

  • An Associates Degree in a related field or a Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying from a U.S. accredited college or university is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Knowledge of static and aerial LiDAR data collection, processing and data extraction preferred
  • Knowledge of basic surveying methods, practices and techniques preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office products is expected
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, TopoDOT, Leica Cyclone REGISTER 360 PLUS (or similar), Pix4Dmapper (or similar), and Revit (or similar) is preferred
  • Attention to detail and self-initiative
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Some travel required
  • Applicable U.S. based work experience
