The Interior Designer provides a meaningful customer journey for homeowners throughout their entire Design Center experience. This includes, but is not limited to, welcoming homeowners, assisting with finish selections, and responding to inquiries.

This role is located at our Empire Homes office in Alpharetta, GA.

What We Are Looking For:
  • AAS in Interior Design, BFA in Interior Design, or BS in Interior Architecture & Design
  • 3-5 years in Interior Design
  • Self-starter who is confident to take buyer appointments immediately once systems trained
  • Ability to work independently on projects or collaborate with a team
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and presentations skills with the ability to retain and articulate information
  • Must be personable, friendly, and professional
  • Microsoft Office Computer skills, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Bonus If You Have These Skills:
  • Proven experience in interior design with experience in residential new construction a plus
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Ability to read floor plans

What You’ll Be Doing Each Day
  • Develop a deep understanding of Empire's design offerings, including standard features and upgrade possibilities available per community.
  • Guide home buyers through the design selections process to assist them in making informed decisions regarding finishes, materials, and other personalization options.
  • Manage design documentation for all assigned home buyers, market homes, and model homes.
  • Assist trade partners, as needed, to ensure timely procurement of materials and finishes.
  • Assist sales and construction, as needed, on any design-related needs.
  • Develop exterior schemes/coloration for upcoming communities that align with the overall community vision and branding.
  • Vision development for future model homes including the specification, procurement, and installation of all furniture, art and accessories.
  • Work alongside internal teams to regularly update design center offerings to reflect new trends, customer preferences, and market demands.
  • Assist the team in maintaining the day-to-day operations of the Design Center, which includes opening and closing the Design Center, engaging with customers, maintaining the visual displays, cleanliness of the Design Center, and re-stocking refreshments, when needed.
