Job description

Burgess Design is looking for an energetic, self-motivated interior designer or architect with minimum 3 years of experience to join our team. This new team member will have the desire to gain experience in corporate interior projects and some exterior renovation work while partnering with clients to create a meaningful transformation through architecture and interior design services.
Your New Role

  • Participate in a high-energy, fast-paced, collaborative team and project environment.
  • Responsible for executing multiple projects at any one time with competing deadlines.
  • Actively works on drawings with experience in Revit, SketchUp, Photoshop, and AutoCAD.
  • Understands code compliance for occupant load calculations, exit requirements, and wall rating requirements.
  • Support all phases of commercial office projects including test fits, schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
  • Assist with site verification documenting existing conditions.
  • Coordinate drawing packages with consultants and develop construction details as required for documentation to permit approval and then for construction documents.
  • Ability to define project goals, objectives, design intent, and concepts through client engagement, translating them into spaces that excel in both aesthetics and performance.
  • Assist with the curation of furniture and accessory packages
  • Conduct product research and data collection to curate product libraries and collections
  • Develop libraries of curated products and solutions informed by commercial furnishing research trends and typologies

Minimum Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field
  • 3 years of experience in an Architectural Firm with experience in tenant improvement/ corporate interiors is preferred.
  • Strong AutoCAD and Revit skills preferred
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong verbal presentation and written communications skills
  • Proficient with SketchUp, Photoshop, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Office Suite products, hand sketching/detailing
  • Experience (or related experience) in permitting, product research, presentations, design, etc.
