Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

Full Time Salary Position

$40,000 Sign-On Bonus

Scheurer Health, a critical access rural hospital, is seeking a full time qualified Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).

Responsibilities

  • Independent CRNA Practice
  • All elective scheduled surgery/No Call/ No Nights/ No Weekends
    1. No Obstetrics
    2. Current Services:
      • Healthy pediatric ENT
      • Orthopedics
      • GYN
      • General Surgery
      • Endoscopy
      • Cataract
  • Assure patient’s safety and welfare
  • Perform and document pre-anesthetic assessment of patient, including requesting consultations and diagnostic studies
  • Select, obtain, order and administer pre-anesthetic medications
  • Obtain informed consent for anesthesia
  • Develop and implement anesthetic plan
  • Select and initiate the planned anesthetic technique
  • Select, obtain and administer anesthetic, adjuvant drugs, and accessory drugs and fluids necessary to manage the anesthetic
  • Manage a patient’s airway and pulmonary status using endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, respiratory therapy or extubation
  • Manage emergence and recovery from anesthesia
  • Release patients from a post-anesthesia care area, providing follow-up evaluation and care, relating to anesthesia side effects or complications
  • Order, initiate or modify pain relief therapy
  • Respond to emergency situations by providing airway management, administration of emergency fluids or drugs, or using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques
  • Additional responsibilities which are within the expertise of CRNA
  • Ensure department/service/system compliance with regulatory agencies (Joint Commission, MDPH, etc.) as well as all applicable federal and state laws and regulations

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Valid Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist license
