Position summary:

The Creel MT Operator is responsible for maintaining the Creel MT unit: setting up and changing over the winders, ensuring accurate yarn placement, entering style specifications into the computer, and moving portable creels into and out of the unit. The CMT operator will also be required to fill in as a Yarn Prep Operator in winding as needed.

Educational requirements:

High school diploma or GED required

Skills and experience:

  • Basic mathematical concepts including fractions, decimals, and percentage preferred.

  • Microsoft Office Experience Preferred

  • Previous Textile Experience Preferred.

  • Good communication skills, verbal and written.

Essential duties:

  • Verify cases assigned to order when delivered by material handlers

  • Ensure correct yarn color using QA approved yarn master

  • Enter order information into CMT system.

  • Continuously prep yarn on winder creels to be processed

  • Correctly label each box of repack yarn by type, color number, and number of cones

  • Maintain required production paperwork and data entry for MESr & AS/400 systems

  • Follow proper procedures for rethreading machine to produce cones of consistent quality and reducing machine downtime.

  • Audit loaded creels using creel thread up maps for accuracy

  • Recycle all scraps and other recyclable materials and minimize waste.

  • Stage PC into and out of creel loading area

  • Deposit all yarn scraps into specific containers to be recycled

  • Maintain housekeeping

  • Comply with safety rules

  • Comply with environmental regulations

  • Be aware of departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

  • Ensure ISO procedures are followed.

  • Understand and support Interface commitment to sustainability.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Physical demands:

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs

  • Must be able to lift 10 lbs overhead continuously.

  • Standing throughout 8-12-hour shift

Work environment:

  • Non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
